Tigers and Birds
INDIA Barathpur & Khana
One of the wonders of this journey is India's amazing wildlife, which we discover as we explore the sal forests and bamboo thickets of renowned Kanha National Park, haunt of the Royal Bengal Tiger and the marshes of Keoladeo-Bharatpur, India's famous bird reserve.
Our journey promises to be a memorable experience.
Bharatpur is famous for being one of the best wetlands areas in the world, and any visit to this wonderful place is always a memorable experience for any birdwatcher and nature lover, and many of the birds offer stunning photo opportunities.
Besides birds such as Sarus crane, various storks and herons, wintering ducks and raptors including Greater spotted and Steppe eagles, siberian wintering passerines and local colourful species, this is also a good place for mammals: Jackals, Nilgai, Rhesus macaque, Chital and Sambar are numerous and normally quite easy to spot.
But talking about mammals, of course Kanha stands out as one of the best places in the world for seeing a tiger, and not only!
During are numerous jeep safaris, guided by expert local guides, we will see many different species, from the endangered local subspecies of Barasingha, to Barking deer and the huge and fascinating Gaur; Common Langur are also present ,as well Sloth bear and Dhole. Obviously the Tiger will be our many target and we will maximize our chances by going on early morning and late afternoon jeep safaris, hoping to see this majestic animal crossing our track or hunting for a prey.
